CELUG and Design Infrastructure Alley 2018 Speaking Schedule

Come Shape The Future of IT Infrastructure for Semiconductor at DAC 2018!

Be sure to join us at DAC in San Francisco from June 24-28.  You will be able to get access to the Design Infrastructure Alley simply by registering using the “I Love DAC” promotionwhich gives you FREE access to the show floor!

Three Days of Insightful, Thought-Provoking Content on Engineering IT Infrastructure Topics

This year’s DAC will have the Design Infrastructure Alley, a section of DAC devoted to the infrastructure required to design chips and systems.  The premise for the DIA is pretty simple:

Every year we get together at DAC to talk about new tools and new methods to create more complex chips and systems.  But we never talk about the infrastructure needed to usethese new methods and tools.  The Design Infrastructure Alley bridges the gap between potential and execution and allows IT Professionals, Engineers and EDA Suppliers to have a conversation about how best to enable Design.

Below is the speaking schedule for this year’s Inaugural Design Infrastructure Alley.  We’re still working through some details regarding topic titles, and we do have one “surprise” guest which will be revealed soon.  All of these speakers will be at the Design on Cloud Pavilion on the main Exhibit Floor.  You can see the floorpan hereto know where you’re going in advance.

DAC 2018 Information

Published by:

For the last several years, there has been a CELUG Co-Located Conference at DAC.  That will be the case again this year as well, but in addition we will have the Design Infrastructure Alley.  Here is some information about the differences between the two and the differing requirements for access.

CELUG Conference

Firstly, there is a CELUG conference.  It is not going to be the same as it has been in the past.  The CELUG presentations will all be on Tuesday, June 26.  There *IS* registration required.  This year’s conference fee is only $100, since we are only reserving a room for one day and there are no plans for any food to be served.  Currently, we have some of our “usual cast of characters” (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor, Ansys, Mathworks, Flexera).

We do have room for member presentations!  If you are interested in presenting, please let me know!

Design Infrastructure Alley

The DIA is new this year at DAC.  The Alley will be on the showroom floor with a special section for IT-specific suppliers.  We will also have the Design on Cloud Pavilion area, which is a stage.  There will be talks and panel sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and right now ALL speaking slots are filled!  You can get access to this area by registering via the FREE I Love DAC registration promotion since all of this is on the tradeshow floor.  The speaking schedule will be published in the next couple of weeks.

Evening Networking Event

This year’s Networking event will be from 7-10 at the Thirsty Bear Organic Brewing Company just a couple of blocks away from Moscone West.  You can see more information here:  https://www.hpcpros.org/pec-events/dac-2018-networking-event-thirsty-bear-brewery/

Due to the nature of the conference this year, I have less visibility into count than normal.  San Francisco is a pricey city, and I want to get a venue with enough capacity for all of us, but I don’t want to get way more capacity than I need.  PLEASE fill out the survey on hpcpros.org:

This year’s Conference is going to be very special.  You definitely want to be there to take part in these great conversations about shaping the future of our industry.  For the first time ever, we’re not going to just be talking about licensing, but about grid computing, storage management, data security and the Cloud.

CELUG Co-Located Conference at DAC 2018

Published by:

This year’s CELUG Co-Located Conference at DAC will be held in conjunction with the Design Infrastructure Alley.  The Design-on-Cloud Pavilion located on the showroom floor will house all of the public talks, and we encourage anyone who wants to give a license specific talk on this stage.

However, there will be more sensitive topics such as roadmaps which are not as appropriate for the Design-on-Cloud Pavilion.  For those talks, we will be reserving a room on Tuesday, June 26.  While admission to the Design Infrastructure Alley will be covered by the “I Love DAC” free registration, the private CELUG presentations will require you to register as usual for the CELUG Co-Located Conference on the DAC site.  There will be a nominal fee for this, though it will be far less than what has been charged in the past.

There are slots available for CELUG Member Presentations!  The first preference is for them to be on the Design-on-Cloud Pavilion on the show floor, but if you are presenting on a topic that is not meant for a broad audience, the private room is an option as well.  Submit your abstracts for papers on the DAC site.

At this point, we have the following confirmed speakers for the CELUG private meeting room.
